AstraZeneca is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.  Their business is focused on providing innovative, effective medicines that make a real difference in important areas of healthcare

Their challenge for us was to incorporate some of our principles of change management into a full day Amazing Race team building event, plus deliver a seminar the following day that would be linked to the team building activities.

We created a seamless event that was both entertaining and productive.  Senior management was able to take several specific outcomes back to the workplace for future development and follow up.

Participants were asked, "As a result of Beyond The Amazing Race ä, what were the two things that became clear to you about the importance of team building?"  Their answers included:

        Trusting strengths of others. 

        More ideas; More energy. 

        Creativity with our department; Sense of urgency. 

        Trust team members to take the lead; Work as a team. 

        Collaboration; Let people lead. 

        Inclusion; That our company values really do play into our decision making process. 

        Stay focused; Trust and collaborate. 

        Collaboration; Check ego at the door. 

        Trust your team; Capitalize on each other’s strengths. 

        Building relationships & trusting each other; Maintain integrity under stressful situations. 

        Working collaboratively; Create line of sight to end goal (and break down tasks to get there). 

        Fun sessions are a great way to build relationships. 

        Communication; Supporting team members. 

        An important step to build a better company. 

        Value of team building; The results which are possible. 

        Communication; Trust. 

        Trust; Collaboration. 

        Trust; Recognize new capabilities. 

        It’s all hard work; Goal needs to be kept in mind & creative solution can be found to any problem. 

        Value of diversity in the team (thoughts, ideas, input, etc.); Communication. 

        Caring about each; Trusting each other. 

        Planning and collaboration are critical; Capitalizing on everyone’s strengths. 

        Have fun; Don’t take things too seriously and always keep things positive.
