2. As a result of the
Beyond Survivor™
& Beyond
Apprentice™ sessions, the one thing that became clear
to me about the value and importance of teamwork
is:
—
It is
impossible to do everything by yourself and that the sum of
many makes light work for everyone.
—
A good team
concept that actually works as a team can accomplish what a
first seems to be a mountain.
—
It takes
support from everyone on the team – teams cannot be driven by
an individual.
—
It makes life
& the job much easier, more effective & much more
productive.
—
Everyone
working to a common goal with clear
expectations.
—
Stay
focused.
—
The team is
only as strong as the individuals who are on
it.
—
You can have
lots of fun and accomplish the objective if everyone
participates.
—
Sticking
together & being receptive to new ideas.
—
Everyone has
a different outlook on their careers.
—
It is
critical that all people work together.
—
You need a
strong team to have success.
—
Communication
success.
—
Be prepared
for changes, have a backup plan.
—
Commitment!
—
The final
result.
—
Input from
others can help to make some things go much
smoother.
—
Need for
support by the Team Lead. Need for direction by the Team Lead
and value of listening.
—
You need it
to succeed.
—
It only works
if everyone works together.
—
It is very
important to value every person’s ideas in order to
collectively pull them together to achieve the goal in the
task.
—
We need this
to be most successful.
—
Understanding
priorities or preferences of others.
—
We need to
identify individual strengths and use it for the advantage of
the “team.”
—
Diversity
matching task.
—
Shared ideas,
working together towards one goal. Motivation to
Succeed.
—
Common Vision
is needed for teams to work toward a goal.
3. My comments on
the team building events overall:
—
Proved how
well a “team” pulled together. It was a truly educational
experience.
—
This will
build relationships between Pickering & Darlington to
increase OPG goals. The attainment of a higher level of goals
is now possible. People will now cross the bridge between
Pickering/Darlington.
—
It was great
way of getting us together. An opportunity to see another side
of our peers and teammates.
—
Was not sure
of what to expect, but was very impressed with the
day.
—
Excellent use
of valuable time and resources.
—
Well done.
Different from any other sessions I’ve been on. Lots of fun and
laughs!
—
I think the
conference was very well received by all and I believe that
work done will be taken back to the office.
—
I enjoyed the
conference, met new people from our work program and gained a
better understanding as to how people and why people think the
way they do!
—
Very good –
well presented.
—
Excellent
team building exercises. Work together to common
goal.
—
Lots of fun
& interaction with the department.
—
Good
conference and seemed to be well organized.
—
Worthwhile.
—
I thought the
Beyond Apprentice session was fantastic. It really pulled the
group together and we had a great time working on our task. I
enjoyed the Beyond Survivor session as well, but the process in
Beyond Apprentice was more of a bonding
experience.
—
Very well put
together and thought out. I really found the playing cards
helpful.
—
Overall it
was very enjoyable.
—
Great.
Teamwork has started; need to continue to work on
it.
—
A challenging
experience that allowed us to get to know each
other.
—
Provided a
team building spirit. Helped me to interact with others in a
fun way.
—
I found the
whole day fun and enjoyed the interaction with our counterparts
from Pickering.
—
Good get
together with fellow workers, staff. Some value regarding need
for team but have been to better sessions.
—
Very pleased
to interact with people I do not get to work with & next to
everyday. Provides fun & challenge
together.
—
Fantastic.
—
Very
beneficial.
—
It’s been a
fun way of learning more about ourselves & co-workers. More
sessions should be held every so often to remind us about
teamwork and it’s value & importance. It seems too often we
get caught in the “survivor” mode and need a
reminder.
—
Interesting.
—
Very
enjoyable. All members were engaged in all activities. Lunch
was horrible.
—
This was a
valuable exercise because it recognizes the contributions that
staff have made and shows a willingness for people to be better
team members.
—
Great
experience. Will provide new contacts with other site and work
groups.
