Team Events for High School/College Students 

 

While we specialize in corporate team building events, we took on a challenge to apply our proven formats to an entirely different type of participant group.  We were asked by a teacher at one of the leading private schools in the GTA to develop an Amazing Race that would augment his Grade 7's studies.   We needed to find ways to incorporate opportunities to actually experience and apply some of their recent studies.

We worked with over 60 students, plus an amazing parent/teacher contingent of over 35 dedicated volunteers.

Some comments from the students about this event:

  • It was very unique & fun filled event.  Probably the best thing we’ve done all year at school   

  • Amazing experience, I was always entertained 
  • Exciting, awesome, had a great time 
  • I had a lot of fun.  It forced me to think in a way that I like which is good

When the students were asked what the Race taught them about teamwork, they said:

 

—         Nothing works if you try to do it on your own 

—         Don’t argue 

—         Every single team member has to give absolute 100% effort in order for their team to succeed! 

—         You can’t do anything alone

—         You can’t do well without good teamwork 

—         More things get done faster when working together 

—         To get things done faster 

—         Think before you act 

—         You need to work together and have fun 

—         Listen to others we all stick together 

—         When you work together, you will win together 

—         You need to be organized and make a plan 

—         Without it you get nowhere 

—         Listen 

—         Cooperating together is good 

—         Listen to everyone 

—         Not to split up 

—         We need it 

—         To trust your teammates 

—         To work together 

—         Always wait for your team mates 

—         To work together

—         Planning ahead and to stick together 

—         Great minds think alike 

—         You need a leader who listens and makes decisions and also keeps team morale up

—          If only one person tries then the rest of the team will fail 

—         Work together  

—         Share all your ideas and plan ahead as a team!  

 

When the students were asked what the Race taught them about Team spirit, they said:

—         Boosting morale 

—         You are always cheered up by cheers 

—         Makes the adventure more fun, less tiring 

—         Be positive!  have fun 

—         Always stay motivated 

—         You need to have fun 

—         Have fun, less tiring 

—         Never give up 

—         Without positivity, you will never succeed 

—         Without team spirit things are less fun 

—         It keeps you going 

—         Scream  

—         That it’s more fun with friends

—         It gets you to have fun and you forget about competition  

—         To cheer 

—         You won’t get through the race without it 

—         We need it 

—         To never give up 

—         Getting everyone excited and energized 

—         To cheer with your team 

—         You get more with honey than you do with vinegar, and spirit can help a LOT!! 

—         Stay positive
